Tour to Melbourne and Italy
My first exhibition was held at the Lionel Wendt Gallery in 2004 under the theme “Stars of Brides”. Then, as the second milestone in my photography career, the 2014 “Sendal My Brides” theme exhibition was held at the same place.
In 2015, my first overseas photography exhibition was held in Melbourne, Australia, utilizing my years of photography experience. The exhibition was themed “Enchanting Sri Lanka” and was organized by AUSCA, an organization of Sri Lankan expatriates in Australia. It was held on March 28 at the famous Coburg Hall in Melbourne. Also, this exhibition was organized in conjunction with the Cricket World Cup between Australia and New Zealand. Therefore, many leading cricketers of Sri Lanka joined the event as special guests.
I have humble pride because this is the first photography exhibition held in Australia by a Sri Lankan photographer. The exhibition included photographs of some famous cricketers and their families, hundreds of outstanding photographs of brides, as well as photographs of ancient sites and the perehara of the sacred temple of the tooth in Kandy.
After the successful completion of this exhibition, another exhibition was organized in Venice, Italy in June 2016, keeping in mind the strong desire to hold exhibits in foreign countries. The exhibition was held at the Via Albere Sporting Club with the theme “Enchanting Sri Lanka” also contained beautiful scenes of Sri Lanka including the world-famous Dalada Perahera, beautiful views of Sri Lanka, superstars, places of religious worship, and wedding photos. Here my desire was to show the world the beauty and artistic talent of Sri Lanka.
